Community Testimonies

We wouldn’t have the Bearsted Fair if it wasn’t for the Jubilee Training Centre, because of their help with the set up and pack down, as well as serving throughout the event. They do it with such enthusiasm and joy and we are very grateful to the staff and students. The Jubilee Training Centre staff and students spent a week helping to refurbish the Bearsted & Thurnham King George V Memorial Hall in 2008. They absolutely transformed the hall by fitting new carpets and redecorating. They gave time and energy and ‘thank you’ is never enough for the contribution they give to the Bearsted community.

The Jubilee Training Centre has worked with Roseacre Junior School for the last two years. Each year they work with Year 6 and in an intensive week they teach the children about music, dance, drama and art. It is a very busy and very enjoyable week for pupils and staff alike that culminates in an amazing musical theatre production to parents on the Friday. The childen absolutely love the time spent with the Jubilee staff and learn so much from them - academically and socially. This week is the highlight of the year for many of the 100+ year 6 children as well as being entertaining for all at Roseacre.

Jubilee Training Centre’s contribution to our Focus Days has been well-planned, brilliantly delivered, highly engaging and based on sound educational principles. They create a marvellous balance of having fun and confronting personal, moral and social choices in an environment that is both challenging and highly supportive.

Jubilee Training Centre found an interesting and exciting way to engage students in topics such as economic wellbeing, relationships and healthy lifestyles which can often be very difficult to deliver. They develop excellent relationships with the students, encouraging all students, even the most difficult, to participate without question or fuss. Students remember who they are and look forward to working with them again. They are an extremely positive and out-going group of young people who can open the minds of students in many different ways.

I thought Jubilee Training Centre were fantastic when they came in to see both the year 7s and 9s. They planned engaging, thought provoking activities which the students really enjoyed. I had some good feedback from students in my form. They were also very positive with groups of children and individuals which created a brilliant learning atmosphere.
